Jose Marin Plazuelo is among the best flamenco guitar makers in Granada. He is the nephew of Antonio Marin Montero, and though he builds under his own name, shares his uncle's workshop. His finely crafted, handmade guitars show a real pride of workmanship. His flamenco guitars are inspired by those of Francisco Simplicio (1874-1934). This is a powerful instrument- with the kind brash rasp and seriousness that flamenco players love. The basses are full bodied yet crisp. The trebles are substantial,  lyrical, focused, clear, and sing. This is the kind of instrument that is so responsive that you feel it is alive as it vibrates in your hands and against your body.  The step up is standard flamenco, and it is a pleasure to hold and play.
