This is not your ordinary 1a Ramirez. It was hand picked by Andres Segovia for the Tucson business man Sam Levitz, and at his suggestion was fitted by Ramirez with engraved, gold platted Landstorfer tuning machines. The guitar is in near mint condition, with no history of cracks or repairs. It was constructed by Ignacio M. Rozas (born 1943), one of the great luthiers to come out of the Jose Ramirez III shop, who used the initials IM to mark the guitars he built. Sergio Assad who was here recently, played this guitar and went wild for it, and thought it to be the best Ramirez he has ever played.
