This is a very faithful copy of an 1858 Antonio de Torres built by one of Spain's most respected luthiers, who has been building guitars since 1949. This is number 915. Although this guitar has cypress back and sides and a German spruce top, aged more than 30 years, it is not a flamenco guitar. Like Torres, Marcelino coaxes from cypress a remarkable, classical tone. The whole guitar is light, and breathes, and every string is alive. I had intended to keep this guitar for myself, but as I recently bought three antique guitars, for the sake of domestic tranquility, I am selling this wonderful instrument. An act I am sure I will regret, as I waited for over two and half years to get it from Marcelino.
