Pedro de Miguel is the name of the firm of
Spanish luthiers:
Pedro Perez and Miguel Rodriguez (born in Madrid in 1958 and 1960 respectively) . At the
age of fourteen both entered the Ramirez shop as apprentices, becoming after six
years journeymen, and eventually master craftsmen who worked on Sr. Ramirez's personal
team. They continued to work for José Ramirez until 1990. In 1991, Miguel Angel Rodriguez
Casas and Pedro Pérez established their own workshop. Building together, the two men
decided that since Rodriguez is such a common name, and so as not to be confused with
other guitar makers of this name, they would sell their guitars under the Pedro de Miguel label. The quality of their
classical and flamenco guitars has led to their firm being designated as one of the
suppliers of guitars for the Real Conservatorio de Madrid. Like other shops, they make a professional line of
flamenco and classical guitars they build by
hand themselves, and offer a line of factory made instruments they have built to their
specifications.
