Manuel Adalid (b. 1951) is a second generation luthier, and head luthier at Esteve. He is widely respected in Spain as among the most experimental and innovative guitar makers in Spain. Although the Esteve makes production guitars, Manuel Adalid maintains his own workshop within Esteve, where he carries on experiments and personally makes the guitars that he sells under his own name. The Viviana concert flamenco negra guitar is a model that Manuel Adalid has designed to our specifications and builds for us exclusively. It offers a concert quality sound at an affordable price. It is impeccably made-- and has the characteristics that professional flamenco players demand: power, projection, bright tone, great snappy rasp and burn, crisp firm basses, strident popping trebles, solid mid-range, and above a low fast set up. The top of this guitar cracked in shipping below the bridge. While we have had it expertly repaired, and the sound is unaffected, we cannot sell it as a new guitar, and so have priced it as a used instrument.
