In 1962 Pedro Martinez Peņalver began his apprenticed with Alfonso Checa (1914-1977), who is recognized as having been one of the master luthiers in Granada. After Checa's death, Pedro took over his workshop. Pedro Martinez Penalver's guitars have a duende professional flamenco players seek and love. The guitar is a show piece of the luthier's art with its carved headstock and bridge. As is typical of his instruments, this guitar is made of master grade woods. Its top is made using the best tight-grained German spruce, the back and sides are made from premium grade Indian rosewood. Note this guitar is in Belgium. |
