Andres Dominguez Guerrero is a luthier in Sevilla, Spain who was born in Jerez de la Frontera in 1947. Before becoming a guitar maker, Andres was a professional flamenco guitarist. He debuted as a flamenco guitarist at age 12, and rubbed elbows with great flamenco artists such as Fernando Galo, Romerito de Jero, and El Niño Jero. His love of the instrument, however, eventually drew him into building. In 1965, he apprenticed with the luthier Manuel Ortega Sousa in Sevilla, and has had his own workshop since 1970. Andres Dominguez stature among Spanish luthiers is such that Luis F. Leal Pinar devotes an entire chapter in "Guitarreros de Andalucia" (2004) to him. His handmade classical and flamenco guitars are based on the designs of Santos Hernandez. The sound he seeks in his guitars is one that is both focused and sweet. Andres is now semi-retired, and as he builds entirely by hand using traditional techniques of construction, he makes only a few guitars a year.

This extraordinarily fine flamenco guitar is his premium model. It only is this guitar beautifully made, but it has in abundance all the qualities that professional flamenco players seek: a vibrant flamenco tone, bright lyrical trebles, rich mid-range, and crisp, solid basses. It has a true flamenco burn and rasp, plus a great fast, low action.
