Mariano Tezanos Jr (b. 1949) and Teodoro Perez (b.1952) are the partners behind M. Tezano-Perez guitars. Teodoro and Mariano were both trained by Jose Ramirez III. Teodoro began his apprenticeship with Ramirez in 1966 and worked there until 1992, during which time he made some 1,400 guitars for Ramirez. Mariano is son of Mariano Tezanos (1915-1982), (M.T.) who built some of the greatest guitars to come out of the Ramirez shop during 1960’s and 1970’s. In 1963, Mariano Jr began his apprenticeship with Jose Ramirez, working under the guidance of Paulino Bernabe Sr until 1984, he then worked for Arturo Sanzano Moreno for a while. In 1992, Mariano and Teodoro formed the partnership, M. Tezanos-Perez. This M. Tezanos-Perez guitar is their Maestro model. This guitar is in excellent condition. There are a few light nail marks on treble side, one on upper treble bout and one on central bass bout. Some minor tuner chipping on headstock. The guitar is set up properly, and has had no repairs, nor does it need any. It offers a sound that is focused, rich, expressive, and powerful.
