Dominique Field was born in 1954, and studied law. Following that he studied guitar and singing with Roman de Herrera at the Paris Conservatory. During this period his interest in building began, and in 1977 under the guidance of Pierre Jaffre he built his first guitar. Although largely self-taught, like Daniel Friederich, Dominique Field was deeply influenced by Robert Bouchet, who he first meet as a painter in his studio in 1974. In 1982, Bouchet asked him to repair and maintain guitars brought to him by his oldest clients, and so he had opportunity to study many of the master's instruments. On Bouchet's death, his wife gave him Bouchet'sworkshop and tools. While Field was a protege of Bouchet, he has also drunk deeply from the works of other great luthiers: Torres, Hauser, and Fleta. This guitar dates from the years during which he actively worked with Bouchet, and other than some minor marks from playing is in excellent condition. PLEASE NOTE this guitar is in BELIGUM.
