Lorenzo Pimentel, born in Durango, Mexico 1929, made his first guitar at age 15 in a Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, workshop under the guidance of two brothers. In 1951 Lorenzo and his wife Josefina established Pimentel Guitars They moved to Albuquerque in 1963 with a few hand tools, founded Pimentel & Sons Guitar Makers Inc. Building in the Spanish traditon their guitars have have received international recognition for decades. Lorenzo died in 2010, but under his the firm continues to make fine guitars. This Pimentel guitar is their Grand Concert model, and is made with fine South American rosewood, and a master grade German spruce top. It is set up confortably, plays well, and sound even better. It is fitted with a clear tap plate. There are a few minor marks in the finish, but nothing deep, all in all this guitar is in excellent condition, and priced to sell.
