Gordon Ben Guttmann studied guitar making with Antony Murray in San Francisco, and began building guitars and lutes in the 1970’s, but then gave it up to pursue another profession. Now retired, he has taken up luthiery again, and is now building very nice instruments using his take on the acoustic ideas of Masaru Kohno with good results.  This guitar has an open sound, with excellent in sustain and volume. The basses are deep, crisp and full and the trebles have distinct clear voices. The guitar is set up to classical standards, with a height at the 12th fret of 4mm and 2.9mm on the 6th and 1st strings respectively, with a very secure fingerboard with 4mm from e strings to edge of fingerboard. It is comfortable to play. This guitar is French polished with a second polish in 2018 over the cured surface to ensure the finish's stability. This guitar is new,  and also comes with a new Ameritage case. It is being sold by the luthier through Zavaleta's La Casa de Guitarras.
