The Cordoba luthiers Miguel Rodriquez, father and son, are among the most respected and sought after guitar makers of the 20th century. This guitar was made by Miguel Rodriguez, Jr (1921-1998) in 1970. Overall, this guitar is in excellent condition: there is some playing wear and scuffing in the finish, nothing major; and, a hairline crack beneath the bridge that Arnie Gamble repaired in 2008. The setup is ideal for a flamenco guitar, low and fast. It is simply wonderful to play.It is a quintessential flamenca negra. If I were trying to pick one guitar with a quintessentially Spanish tone, it would be a Miguel Rodriguez. This guitar is a monster--volume to fill the largest concert hall, and an intensely bold Spanish voice.
