Francisco Bros was founded in the late 1950s by Francisco Broseta Rodla. At an early age he was apprenticed as a cabinet maker, and then at age 18, he apprenticed with the Dolores Marin and later with Jose Roca. During his apprenticeship with Dolores Marin, he met his wife, a guitar varnisher at the Hijos de Vicente Tatay factory in Valencia. Soon after their marriage, they opened their own shop. When he retired, his son, Francisco Broseta Jr, took over the shop. Currently, the firm is in the hands of his grandchildren, who continue making guitars in the artesanal tradition of their forebears. This guitar is a special model made to celebrate their 60th anniversary, and is not in their on-line catalog, but they do have a video of its construction.
