Born into one of Granada’s legendary guitar-making families, Jesús Bellido (b. 1966) was trained by his father, the internationally renowned luthier Manuel López Bellido. A true prodigy, Jesús began building at age 14 and was selling instruments under his own name by 17. In 1989, he opened his own workshop and was appointed a professor of guitar making by the Junta de Andalucía, before returning to full-time building in 1995. Blending his traditional Granada heritage with a background in natural sciences, Bellido crafts exceptional classical and flamenco guitars entirely by hand. His unique approach combines historic, Torres-influenced designs with a radically redesigned, scientifically tested soundboard bracing system that perfects traditional acoustic tone.
