Dominique Field, born in 1954 in Paris, is hailed as France's foremost builder of his generation. His remarkable work is held in the same high regard as his esteemed predecessors and contemporaries, Robert Bouchet and Daniel Friederich. Field's guitars have earned global recognition and are played by some of the world's most esteemed concert artists, including Eduardo Isaac, Vladimir Mikulka, Julian Byzantine, Adam Holzman, and the renowned flamenco artist Vicente Amigo, among others.

Although Field initially embarked on the path of studying law, his passion for music led him to make a pivotal switch. He devoted eight years to studying music theory and guitar at the Conservatory of the 17th arrondissement of Paris, under the tutelage of Ramon de Herrera. In the mid-1970s, his fascination with lutherie ignited, and with the guidance of Pierre Jaffré, he constructed his first guitar in 1977. In 1978, Field joined forces with Guy Derat and established his inaugural workshop at 16 rue Jean Cottin, where he crafted an impressive 78 guitars. However, it was his encounter with the legendary Robert Bouchet in 1974 that left an indelible mark on Field's artistic journey. The bond between the two men grew stronger over time, and in 1982, Bouchet began entrusting Field with repairs and maintenance work on his guitars. This invaluable opportunity allowed Field to work on a considerable number of Bouchet's instruments, providing him with invaluable insights into Bouchet's techniques.

Upon Bouchet's passing, Dominique Field inherited several precious items, including Bouchet's workshop notebooks, which he generously donated to the Instrumental Museum of the Conservatory of Music in Paris. In 1991, Field relocated his workshop to 12 rue Lécuyer, seeking new avenues for growth and innovation. Then, in 2020, he made a bold decision to uproot his workshop and settle in Athens, Greece. Dominique Field's meticulous approach to his craft is reflected in his output of approximately eight instruments per year. This limited production, combined with the extraordinary quality of his guitars, has led to an astounding waiting list that currently spans 17 years. As a result, his instruments are rarely seen on the market and are incredibly challenging to acquire.

This guitar has been lovingly cared for, and is in perfect condition. After playing this guitar, Sergio Assad, ordered a Dominique Field, it's that good.
