German Vazquez Rubio is one of the most talented and prestigious luthiers in the world today. He was born in 1952 in Paracho, Mexico where there is an abundance of fine luthiers, and began his formal training when he was eleven years old with uncle Manuel Rubio. In 1968 at the age of sixteen he made his first concert guitar. Since then, he has studied with various master builders such as Felix Manzanero, Jose Romanillos, David Daly, and Thomas Humphrey. He now lives in Los Angeles, California where he has a workshop and continues to build guitars. This guitar is an example of this finest work. It is in nearly pristine condition, except for some light nail marks on upper bout of guitar right below the upper neck register.
