This 2002 José Ramírez 1a traditional classical guitar is not factory model, but rather is one meticulously handcrafted in the Ramirez workshop. The Ramirez 1a was designed by Jose Ramirez III in collaboration with Andres Segovia in the early 1960s, and has remained the dream guitar for generations of classical guitarists. This guitar 1a traditional Jose Ramirez classical showcases the harmonious fusion of premium materials and exceptional design that the Ramírez name has been synonymous with for generations. Crafted with Indian Rosewood back and sides, the guitar boasts a distinctive character that exudes warmth and depth. This choice of wood not only enhances the instrument's aesthetic appeal but also contributes to its resonant tonal palette. Complemented by a Canadian red cedar soundboard, the guitar delivers a balanced and responsive sound that captivates players and audiences alike.

The present owner’s husband bought this guitar from the Ramirez shop, and it was his cherished guitar. The guitar is generally in excellent condition, and has no structural issues, or history of repairs. As a guitar that was loved and played, it does have a couple of dings, and string burns in the finish below the bridge, which are readily seen in the photos. These could be easily addressed, and made less visible. None of which detract from the musical quality of this guitar.

This guitar offers the concert quality sound for which the 1a Ramirez is legendary. It is well set up, and its playability is a delight to the fingers, its tonal range is expansive and expressive, and its history is a testament to the enduring legacy of the Ramírez tradition.

This guitar comes with a HumiCase.
