Robert E. Thompson, is an American luthier, in Colorado. In 1968, while serving in the Air Force, he acquired a cherished 1968 Brazilian rosewood D35 guitar that motivated him to delve deeper into the world of guitars.

In 1971, a concert by the legendary Andres Segovia proved to be a pivotal moment. Moved by Segovia's mastery, he was inspired to study classical guitar, embarking on a journey that would refine his skills and deepen his appreciation for the art.

In a twist of fate in 2003, he was laid off by his employer. Seizing upon the opportunity, he enrolled in a guitar building class. Constructing his first classical guitar proved to be a transformative experience, sparking a newfound passion for luthiery. With dedication and precision, he began to repair and build guitars, each one becoming a testament to his craftsmanship and love for the instrument.

Robert meticulously constructs his guitars, adhering to the revered Torres/Hauser bracing pattern and using only the finest materials. Each guitar demands approximately 160 hours of painstaking work, ensuring that they transcend their role as mere instruments, becoming exquisite works of art that resonate with both sound and soul.

A respected member of the Guild of American Luthiers, the Association of String Instrument Artisans, and the Guitar Foundation of America, Robert Thompson stands as a testament to the enduring power of passion and craftsmanship.
