Antonio Marin Montero is the one of the leading guitar makers in Spain. He was born in Granada in 1933. When he was but fourteen years old he became interested in what was to become his life long work, building guitars.  When he was about eighteen or twenty years old, he went to work as an apprentice in the shop of Eduardo Ferrer.

In the late 1970s, he began a collaboration with the luthier Robert Bouchet in France. They built several classical guitars together. Although Antonio's believes that the traditional designs and systems of building remain the best, the success of this collaboration led him to some innovations of his own.

Although Antonio has built some flamenco guitars, he prefers to build concert classical instruments, and currently almost all of his guitars are of this kind. Although he is among the most renowned luthiers in Spain, he is a very shy and modest man.
